This was on Security Now: 0Patch.com is a service that's offering micro patches for critical security flaws in Win7. They just patched the serious JScript.dll flaw that Microsoft isn't planning to have a patch for until patch Tuesday next week. It's free for personal and home use - they make their money off corporate clients.

If you're still running Win7 for some reason, it's worth looking into. It basically replaces Windows Update: https://0patch.com/
I have 2 systems left running 7 and I'm planning on moving to this.

I have it running in a VM to check it out first. It does say that it does NOT alter any original files.

Doing a little research into ACROS Security, it doesn't seem like some unknown company with zero experience in this field.

This seems like an incredible idea, wonder how they pull it off for closed source software

Seems also to be a goldmine, just imagine what they charge to corporate clients

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

That's not the way to think about this company. IF they have a technology that does what they claim it does, AND their micropatches are reliable, then they get to charge a lot of money for this service. The way that tech works, sooner or later they will have a competitor, or else some big company will buy them up (and maybe screw up their business).

Yes exactly, IF. They're dealing with proprietary closed source code so it's very much possible they can't patch everything.

This product sounds like an antivirus product but for security patches.
OTOH this product sounds a lot like the scam products advertised to patch Windows XP back in the day but turned out to be trojans in reality.

Except that they have all these corporate customers.
