If you are shopping for a new CPU cooler, and you have the room in your case, the crew at ThinkComputers say the Scythe Ninja 4 HSF is a solid choice.

Scythe has really made a name for themselves in the DIY PC cooling market since being founded back in 2002. Over the years they have had some really great CPU coolers, many which we have reviewed. The Ninja series has primarily been reserved for the top of the line coolers from Scythe and the cooler we have on the review block today definitely fits that bill.

Ive already had one for over a year. About time they review it.

Yeah many of the single tower heatsinks, especially the recent releases in the last 2 years are easily contenders to the dual towers. The issues, of course, is that availability (or lack thereof) drives up the price in the US.

You already see this with Thermalright gear coming at a substantial markup in the states, and similarly, the Scythe Ninja 4 is going for $60+ (instead of the $45-50 MSRP).

SPCR elects to use a new 140mm reference fan for this review, as part of the dual-fan test: the Scythe Glidestream 140-M. If anyone has seen that review, you would know the numbers for that fan are fairly average and gets worse as the fan is slowed down. It is 3-4C worse than both the Noctua and Phanteks at lower noise levels...which negates much of the advantage of going dual-fan in the first place.
