The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced some high-tech changes to the 5-Star Safety Rating system. New tests will cover automatic emergency braking and include the use of more human-like crash test dummies.

NHTSA officials said their plans for a revised system will include an additional crash test, more human-like crash test dummies, assessing pedestrian protection, allowing half-stars in ratings for the first time ever, and ranking crash-avoidance technologies like automatic braking.

Automatic braking only helps if they driver behind you has it.
Doesn't help if you stop and the person behind you doesn't.

Basically Crony based incentive to autonomous technology.

This is exactly why auto braking shouldn't be in any car.

Don't need the driver behind you to have it as long as they observe sufficient following distance.
