Quadruped With Attached Quadrotor

and why do the legs have to keep moving? can't it stand still with the legs not moving?

So recon bots will have a drown to search by air while it hunts you down on the ground.

and why do the legs have to keep moving? can't it stand still with the legs not moving?

Because it was programmed to act like a spastic purse dog chihuaha, just wait till they get it to randomly piss itself.

The most likely reason is that it's constantly adjusting it's balance and the developers didn't care enough to program it to be able to just stand perfectly still.

Force recon just got replaced by a nerd with a joystick and an energy drink.

Thought the "Robots are going to kill us" theme wouldn't have been so peppy. Damned dirty robots!

It's like the robot version of the cat with a shark hat sitting on a roomba

This is common in fully autonomous robots. They are constantly adjusting balance and the control feedback loops on the software side of things get ridiculously complex.

It has little to do with the software guys not caring, this is their working solution and very few researchers have fully autonomous bi/quadruped robots that can stand completely still without assistance.

So... basically if they cared enough to do so, they could have put the effort in to do it... but since they probably didn't have a reason to care... there wasn't a point in doing so.

I guess this way walking robot can oversee greater distance if these 2 can communicate with each other.

Genuinely laughed out loud at that :D

That is not what I said, people ARE working on it. In the mean time the interim solution is constant motion.
