The review crew over at LanOC did a bit of SLI testing with a pair of NVIDIA GTX 950s.

As with all of our Crossfire and SLI articles, this is not a review as I have already tested and reviewed both cards individually. Today is just a quick look at their performance and to find out if the 950’s in SLI are a better value than any of the more expensive cards individually.

Seems to be VRAM-limited in SLI but since the author didn't give VRAM figures we can't know for sure.

There is more to the gaming experience than just frame rate.

SLI (and CF) introduce too many problems, between broken games, stuttering, erratic frame rates, etc. etc.

I'd take an equivalently performing single GPU card 100 out of 100 times, even if more expensive.

If I already had a 950, I'd sell the 950 and buy a more powerful single GPU before I went SLI.

IMHO, the only time to go SLI is if the fastest single GPU video card on the market isn't fast enough.

That's why I have two 980ti's. The Titan X isn't fast enough.

As soon as something comes out that matches them at 4k in a single GPU configuration, I'm ditching them and replacing them.
