I suppose hitting pirate sites where it hurts (the wallet) is as good of a way as any to combat piracy. It will be interesting to see how this works out over time.

The City of London Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit says it is making excellent progress in reducing the revenues of so-called 'pirate' sites. The UK's top ad spending companies have reportedly decreased their 'pirate' advertising by 73%, with automotive, food and drink, and real estate businesses pulling out almost completely.

Almost like you're saying they are all in it for the profit, which simply isn't the case. ;)

I can tell you which side it's going to work out better for, in the long run, and it's probably not the one you're cheering for. :D

Aren't the majority of pirate sites porn + scam advertisers? I can't say I remember seeing a legitimate company advertising on one.
