Microsoft HoloLens Used To Teach Human Anatomy

It would be very useful in manufacturing. Aerospace manufacturing for example requires a ton of manual labor and FAA compliance standards that can't be deviated from. Hololens could go a long ways to ensuring that shit are in the right places.

It's interesting but for anatomy I can't see this catching on like a wild fire. Seems expensive and comparable to some of the 3D illustrations common online.

Would I like to learn like this? Hell yeah. It's certainly thought provoking. Wish it was around when I went to school.

I get it on a regular basis and still jack off. Your point?

Gotta check the pipes often :p

Cadavers were always creepy but i suppose people need to be desensitized and see the body as a machine. Teaching anatomy seems to need help since you could have a box with a penis, vagina and anus, and when asked which one doesn't belong a fair number of people wont be sure. Holograms cant fix that.

The most interesting thing in this video for me is that it's the first time I've seen the Hololense's field of view depicted in a video.

The wide angle shots are still the normal camera view that we see from the presentations, but it's mixed in with point of view shots where the FOV is very noticeable.

gota agree.. the porn would be amazing. But after a few days of that we'd have to find another use.

If i had any decent skill in development/modeling i would create and app that would have a calander and when instead of alarms a Minion (would pop out of no where.. like out from under a couch or whatever and lead you do your appointment... freaking awesome.

I'm interested to see this when this comes out. I'm still on the Occulus Rift bandwagon though.

I know I'd rather use the HoloLens for human anatomy class instead of a cadaver.
I prefer the technique of that one teacher that got in trouble for hiring a stripper and using a magic marker on her to teach anatomy. An endoscope on a live squirmy naked person certainly captures the kids attention better.

Give it a few years. I can see this being as huge as smart phones currently are, and they were largely unheard of just 6 years ago. Microsoft is definitely on to something here.

Another puff video for "Hololens" that shows an unrealistic picture of what Hololens will do. If they were REALLY showing what it's capable of, they would show PART of one model in the photo with half of it clipped off at the edge! The field of view on these things is HORRIBLE, yet all of their videos and promos act like it gives you a seamless 180 degree view!
