Something tells me these Rightscorp guys got more than they bargained for when they decided to go head to head with Cox. :D

Cox Communications, one of the largest Internet providers in the United States, has asked the court to order anti-piracy firm Rightscorp to hand over its tracking source code. The ISP describes the company's settlement scheme as extortion and hopes to punch a hole in its evidence gathering techniques.

I bet the "source code" was nothing more than looking at the IP address of the seeders and demanding Cox customers to pay up.

Good for Cox. At least on the surface, this ISP is standing up and helping to defend its customers against egregious extortion demands.

Like everything, this is a dollars and cents issue. Its not so much them standing up for customers, as that there's no upside for them to be party to this. Its like Cox owns a store and the copyright trolls are loitering out in front and demanding a brown bag of cash from the people walking in and out.

It's a good thing for them that they are being supported so heavily by the RIAA and MPAA members. How many other companies could stay in business with results like these? … :D

"The Company reported a total loss of $2.2 million for the first three quarters of 2014 along with a total loss of $6.5 million since 2011.[31]"
