According to anonymous sources, Bloomberg reports that the hack that was directed at Anthem Healthcare was carried out by an espionage unit of the Chinese government known as Deep Panda.

Bloomberg, which said it has spoken to three people on conditions of anonymity, claim the hacks are to provide the Chinese government with data on government workers and others.

Why would the American Govt. want Chinese identities and healthcare info? Answer: They don't

Why would you name your hacker group Deep Panda.

I misread that as dead panda and was trying to figure out from the headline how a dead panda could have anything to do with being responsible for the hack.

Deep Panda or Dead Panda... either one would be a cool name for a band imho.

Or the name of a WoW Pandaria character.....

At first thought, likely not, but then again, maybe they would be interested in potential dissidents

Diseases. Know thy enemies weaknesses.

You don't need to hack Anthem for that, the CDC publicly distributes that information for free each year and more rapidly provides that kind of data to other world health bodies and vice verse.
