Apple Ends Free 'Single of the Week' Promotion

Apple has apparently decided to end its "single of the week" promotion after an eleven year run. No more free ride for you!

Apple has seemingly ended its weekly iTunes "Single of the Week" promotion that gave out a free music single download each week on the iTunes storefront. As noted by Business Insider, a member of the Apple discussion forums claims an Apple support employee informed him the company decided to drop the weekly promotion.

It was all indie stuff, mostly shit AFAIK. Still, its funny they do this at a similar time as Google started their free album every week thing.

Agree, I just snagged Aoki's latest from Google Play yesterday for free. They also had Guardians of the Galaxy free back before Christmas.

I don't think I've ever bought any music from Apple, it's all from Amazon, Google or Amie Street (before Amazon bought them).
