Who cares about piracy? I would have called the cops on them just because they own iPhones. :D

A group of 12-year-old girls had the police called on them after they decided to bring their iPhones and iPads to a showing of The Hunger Games at a local cinema. The police officers who rushed to the scene were unable to find any recorded footage, but by then the children were too distressed to watch the rest of the film.

Yep 480p iPhone recordings are really killing the industry. 12-year-old girls are the worst offenders.

I'm glad they took care of that before they were able to record and release it online. Damn 12 yr old girls and their bootlegging

Watch out, next time it's going to be sending in swat teams for overdue library books and red box rentals.

So the phones were searched? That itself is downright unacceptable. The police who did it should be disciplined (yes, I know that no police are ever disciplined so that is a pipe dream).

>Not Illegal in UK cinema's to record the movies as long as you don't distribute
>Theaters still call the cops
>The cops actually show up and try to arrest them

Arrest them for what, breathing? They were not breaking the law.

Good job popo!

It'll start happening more and more in the US soon enough. Piracy = terrorism.

DO NOT DARE CRITICIZE THE PIGS, THEY WILL TAKE THEIR GUNS AND BATONS AND GO HOME...or just turn their backs on you like 12 year olds that just got grounded.

It seems like these thugs in uniforms think they're above the law, above criticism and forget who pays their salaries.

Well, they basically are. On paper they shouldn't be but nobody stands up for our rights. Seems to be basically the same anywhere - I live in the US myself but the UK and other places seem the same. We get cops who murder people and we manage to get them in a trial and even the jury lets them off. If they can literally get away with murder, they're sure as hell going to get away with everything else.

Being grounded and being murdered are two slightly different things.

And so is protesting and murdering but the NYPD would like you to believe other both are equally bad.
They do not want you to question them or protest them.

Check out what happened last week in Cleveland when some Browns players and Cavs players wore "I can't breathe" tshirts during their warmups. Their local police gestapo demanded an apology. ROFL!

Slight bits of extreme police-phobia huh?

I hate the lawsuit happy mentality as much as the next guy but here is a case where I hope the parents sue. These girls were 12...

If we put them on trial, and the jury let him off, then how can we blame the police? If their wrong acts are said to not be wrong by their own local citizens how can the cops be the ones we stay upset with? The problem then isn't the cops, but the citizens who allow it to continue to take place when given the opportunity to stop, punish, or change it.

Just because someone surmises those were murders doesn't make them so. Juries may have let them off because they should have.

Some of them, like Brown, are potentially questionable, but some, like Garner, are 100% positively such.

Not at all, I just find it alarming when they refuse to accept any civilian oversight or criticism, when it's the citizens who pay their salaries.

I'm not sure about the UK, but in the US, there has been lots of oversight and criticism that is changing how police operate in recent years. And in ages past stuff like the cameras they put inside their cars were responses to that same kinda feedback. It might not be fair to say that they aren't held accountable at all because that's really not true and there's a long list of stuff that supports that including individual police who do the wrong thing getting fired or taken to court where they get put under the same due process as everyone else.

Is that even an arrestable offense?

Nothing is arrestable based solely on a complaint. But police don't care what the law is - they care only about what they can get away with. And what they can get away with is just about anything.

After I saw the Garner video I will never look at NYPD police the same way. There's a sickening bloodthirsty pack-hunt mentality. That reminded me of watching wild-life documentaries of a pack of lions or wolves or hyenas trying to take down a buffalo or something.

Even after the man is on the ground face-down, cuffed you still have that roid-raged Staten Island scumbag on top of him applying 'take-down force' around his neck while his buddies stand around watching? And this is after he already has 2 civilian complaints hedged against him for questionable 'procedures'.

There's no disputing those two officers getting killed is a tragedy, but I would laugh if someone tracked down Pantaleo and offed him.

Isn't socialism wonderful.
"Freedom", just another word for oppression.

UK not us we fought the revolution to get the right against illegal search and sezure. I don't know if they have such protections other places.

those girls have no business bringing Ipads into the theater. The theater's employees were way too quick to jump from asking them to leave or disallowing them from taking the tablets inside. If I was a cop I would have ticketed the theater for filing a false report.

The police are all bad. You'll tell me that not all of them murder people. And you're right when speaking directly. But they all have each others' backs. They back each other up. They lie. If I witness a murder and don't report it, I could potentially be charged as an accessory. But that is modus operandi for the police. The only difference between the Nazis and modern police are the numbers of people that were murdered. It is NEVER, EVER acceptable to stand up for criminals in the police force, PERIOD. And it is not acceptable to say they made a mistake. They are hired to do the job and if they make mistakes, they are clearly unable to do the job. At the very least they need to be removed from law enforcement FOREVER, not put on a desk job or given PAID VACATION, and DEFINITELY not being put back on the street with no discipline so they can continue to murder.

I do blame the jury as well.

That's all fine and well but I live in a city where currently the representatives of a 30,000+ police force are blaming the mayor for allowing citizens to protest.

So basically you have the heads of PBA unions saying it's the entire city's (primarily the mayor for allowing people to assemble and protest) fault that those 2 officers got shot, not some crazy lunatic from Baltimore.

Well don't hire thugs as cops who abuse power and use excessive force and perhaps tensions won't escalate.

Now that I realize it, it was the about when the proliferation of smartphones started that I stopped going to movie theatres. I got sick of self centered rude people ruining my $20 movie experience because they are unable to STFU.

Who cares if they were pirating or not? If this had happened in the U.S., I'd have stood up and cheered! How many time have you had your movie experience ruined by idiots who won't turn off their phones?

You would want people to be harassed and perhaps arrested rather than kicked out? What is wrong with you?

Turn your damn phone off and you won't have a problem. I'm tired of the people who think their need to be "connected" is more important than my uninterrupted movie viewing. A little harassment might just do the trick.

Glad to see major crime is all taken care of and the can handle these little deviants...

It annoys me too, but if you think this is deserved, stay the fuck out of theaters and you won't have this problem, asshole.

It obviously doesn't annoy you enough to want to do anything about it. If you believe the girls weren't warned before the police were called, I've got a bridge to sell you. You might want to refrain from calling your betters names.
