If you haven’t heard, all flights in or out of London’s airports were cancelled for hours yesterday causing a ripple effect that went all around the globe. Human error or bad weather are the first things that come to mind, but in this case, you can blame technology.

As for the root cause of the glitch, a post on the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation website suggested that a faulty server was to blame for the system going down.
