Wikimedia properties (including Wikipedia) are publically-editable and curated by a fleet of volunteer editors. However, what's little known are the stewards: 36 users with "global rights" to edit anything. Medium has a great article about them and what they do.

“One thing though that you shouldn’t forget,” a steward who goes by the username Trijnstel told me. “We have indeed a couple of extra rights, but in theory it doesn’t make us more important than other editors. Consultation with community is key so the regular editors have a voice, through us.”

There are still guys who are insecure enough to be infatuated with that? :eek: Seriously, pretty much every rational voice on the internet including Wikipedia, that presented an unbiased perspective has gotten slobbering, crazy nerd-boi rage. As if screaming really loud insults is going to somehow make the reality and what sensible people (who largely don't care at all and just shake their heads at what their kids are doing with Twitter) think about it magically different just from the noise.

Well you have a representation of a he said / she said situation by Journalist and pseudo journalist when they are one of the 'saids' Big shock they self-aggrandize themselves and tunnel vision on the anonymous 14 year olds on the other side. Ironically its the group think in action which laid down the fuel for the fire that started this.
