If your Amazon order shows up smelling like smoke, this is probably the reason.

A cardboard compactor caught fire at the Amazon fulfillment center in Murfreesboro Saturday morning. It happened around 1 a.m. at the facility located at 2020 Joe B. Jackson Parkway. Smoke filtered throughout the building and employees were evacuated.

Good that no one was hurt. Now you all git back to werk!!!

I want to know how a cardboard compactor catches fire unless somebody threw something in there that was already burning.

They are pretty much all Hydraulic as far as I know.

Back when I was working at Amazon, we had one in the cardboard compactor.

Cause: Someone threw a battery into compactor.

Those batteries when crushed do heat up. I think it may have been one for a MC9090 hand scanner.
