This week Google initiated a new payment option for its business customers subscribing to Chromebooks for Work. The plan now can be renewed on an annual basis, bringing with it several new perks and features not available with the one-time payment plan.

With this, Google now gives businesses the option to either pay a one-time fee of $150 for access to the management console and support, or to subscribe to this new $50/year/device plan.

Sounds like a terrible deal. People need to resist subscriptions as much as possible.
