No need to delete your 9/9 Apple Media Event placeholder in your calendar yet but be aware. A setback in the backlight production delayed screen assembly earlier this summer and suppliers are working around the clock to make up for the lost time.

It's unclear whether the hiccup could delay the launch or limit the number of phones initially available to consumers, the sources said, as Apple readies larger-screen iPhones for the year-end shopping season amid market share loss to cheaper rivals. But the issue highlights the risks and challenges that suppliers face to meet Apple's tough specifications, and comes on the heels of a separate screen technology problem, since resolved, in making thinner screens for the larger iPhone 6 model.

Every iphone launch seems to have these delays and parts shortages yet when it comes out it ships more than before.

Unless apple has kept the fact that the iphone 6 is going to have some super secret suck function for giving BJs... it will do the exact same thing your iphone 5 does. There might be some gimmick function, but the core will always be the same

Love my Galaxy S5 - but the latest and greatest "features" are still gimmicks. Fingerprint scanning still sucks, pedometer sucks (it has yet to detect a single pedophile in the area)

Look on the bright side: apple fanatics get a few extra weeks/months to all hang out and circle jerk together while singing kumbaya!
 
Apple marketing, let them think there won't be enough to get the sheep to line up early to get one.
