iPhone 6 is on the way and so is the recruitment drive to hire 100K additional Foxconn employees in China to manufacture the units. Foxconn is also rumored to be planning to begin plant automation after further production testing to keep pace with the estimated 120 Million units per year.

The paper also said Foxconn plans to automate its plants with its Foxbot industrial robots, but the recruitment drive ahead of the launch of the iPhone 6 in the fall reflects that human workers cannot yet be replaced.

by "recruit" they mean grabbing every body young and old they can get their hands on in a 100 mile area

I still trust 100% more of their workmanship than any of the minimum wage workers getting paid $8~$15 here in the US though.

They'll be issuing each new employee a personal cyanide capsule so they won't have to clean up that mess off the sidewalk.

That's bad news for the Chinese if they're turning to automation, it means that their labor costs have now reached a point where it's more cost effective to invest in automating their manufacturering.

"grabbing" ?? people SWARM/flock to those factories wanting to work there. they pay WAY more than anything local around them.

Do some research.
