The moon has faster internet than you do. :p

Scientists managed to send data from Earth to the moon at a rate of 19.44 megabits per second — on par with slower broadband speeds — and could download information from the moon at a rate of whopping 622 megabits per second.

This isn't Wi-Fi. The fucking article even says this is done with laser technology. >:O

Here we (USA) is sending laser beams to the Moon and probably 1/4 the country will say "that's great" and the other 3/4 will lament amount about tax dollars wasted. It makes you wonder what 2nd and 3rd world countries think about. They have none of the burden, but none of the accomplishment.

Actually, internet access ON the moon would be pretty crappy, since it was only 19mbit download from earth to moon. The 622Mbit number is the upload from the moon back to earth, which isn't very useful unless you are running a torrent seedbox

"No, no, no, light speed is too slow." "Light speed, too slow?" "Yes, we're gonna have to go right to ludicrous speed."
