Wouldn't it be funny if the judge in this case actually barred these two companies from suing each other? :D

Apple "vastly overstated the scope of its patents" and is asking for an unreasonably high amount of damages, Samsung argued Tuesday during its opening arguments in a court here. "The suggestion seems to be if you're not asking for billions, you don't take patents seriously," Samsung attorney John Quinn said.

Sorry Samsung, but the word/idea "overstated" is under copyright from Apple. Pay up licensing to use the term. Now.

These two should stay in court suing each other, that way they won't sue anyone else, or hopefully won't.

Pffft.. Apple has plenty of lawyers, don't you worry.

Both are doing some funky shit. Samsung sued Apple over a patent that Apple's supplier already paid for. Paying double patent royalties is good though right?

Depends on the terms of rights that were granted to the supplier. The rights the supplier gets are not automatically transferable if they didn't include that in the original deal. Depending on the terms this is not frivolous at all. Its just as easy to cast this as Apple trying to bypass dealing with Samsung's patent rights by using the supplier as a proxy.

If it was up to Samsung, they'd simply cross-license when gray areas develop. Apple would rather sue, however. The most amusing thing of all is Apple's preposterous claim that people buy Samsung products believing they were buying Apple products--yeah, right, maybe if the customers don't know how to read. I mean, the word "Samsung" stamped all over a product doesn't remotely look like the word "Apple"--and Samsung doesn't use that silly Apple logo/worm-eaten apple, either...;)
