Well, that was hardly time enough to actually grab the popcorn and settle in. The torrent movie streaming Popcorn Time has officially closed its doors after only a week in operation.

Of course, just because Popcorn Time has decided it wants no part in the highly contentious debate over copyright law doesn't necessarily mean that it's gone forever.
 
If only netflix themselves could learn from these guys and make their system torrent based (or at least P2P based using some other scheme) we would have much less of this whole debate about Netflix, traffic and peering agreements.

Then you'd have more people complaining about their ISP throttling bittorrent traffic...

I think the idea is excellent, and would work great. As long as ISP's kept all traffic as equal. Of course, have major seedboxes at major hubs, then individual PC's for others. Share the load.
