It's astounding that no one has thought of this before now. :eek:

Last week at the RSA Conference, a pair of researchers demonstrated how it was possible to legally create a botnet for free by abusing trial accounts made available by high-powered platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings.

hell there were script kiddies that figured out how to exploit Amazon EC2 as a massive botnet to the tune of about 2 cents per hour.
 
This type of stuff is nothing new. When linode brought back free trials I remember quite a few attacks originating from them.
 
crypto currency botnets make a retarded amount of money per day.
