Little by little Microsoft is making it easier and less painful for reticent Windows XP owners to make the switch to a newer, supported operating system. Microsoft will maintain the Malicious Software Removal Tool for XP until July 2015.

By extending the life of the MSRT -- and more importantly, automatically running it each month -- Microsoft will be able to clean some PCs if massive malware outbreaks hit Windows XP after it's retired from support.

I say throw them to the wolves.

This isn't really that great of a bone. The actual security/logic holes that the malware hooks into will remain unpatched, if I'm understanding the situation correctly. This thing just deletes it after the fact.

If XP was a man thrown overboard I would keep my foot on that person's face. You dying just accept it!

Because if MS doesn't people will cry foul how bad MS is as a company and they should tank and they suck and blah blah blah!
