Intel Corporation’s board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 22.5 cents per share (90 cents per share on an annual basis) on the company’s common stock. The dividend will be payable on March 1, 2014, to stockholders of record on Feb. 7, 2014.

(Fast or crappy math)

So if I had a million bucks in Intel I'd make less than $40,000 before taxes.
Hmmm, yay.

No, you'd get around $9000 in dividends this quarter if you held $1000000 in Intel stock. :p

Depending on when you bought INTC, what you "make" (or lost) would vary. If you bought $1000000 in INTC stock...

3 months ago, you'd be up about $1.50/share ($64,000 gain in value) + get a $9600 dividend this quarter (6.2% gain after taxes, if you sold off $64000 in stock)

6 months ago, you'd be up $2 a share ($87000 gain in value) + $9800 dividend this quarter + $9800 dividend last quarter (9.0% gain after taxes, if you sold off $87000 in stock)

1 year ago, you'd be up $4 a share ($190000 gain in value) + $10700 dividend each of the last 4 quarters (19.8% gain after taxes, if you sold off $190000 in stock)

:p

Banks are paying .025 APR so if you had a million in the bank you would get 2,500 return.

I'll take 40K instead.

Capital gains are also taxed much lower.
