Kinda neat to look back on stuff like this when bitcoin wasn't worth jack. Damn, pizza sounds good right now.

I'll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas.. like maybe 2 large ones so I have some left over for the next day. I like having left over pizza to nibble on later. You can make the pizza yourself and bring it to my house or order it for me from a delivery place, but what I'm aiming for is getting food delivered in exchange for bitcoins where I don't have to order or prepare it myself, kind of like ordering a 'breakfast platter' at a hotel or something, they just bring you something to eat and you're happy! ...

If you're interested please let me know and we can work out a deal.

Thanks,
Laszlo

Um...okay. The article states that a Bitcoin is worth 75 dollars. That would make this story a little under a year old.

What did the guy that received the 10K of bitcoins do with it? Does he still have it?

I like to know too.

I had part of a bitcoin sitting on my drive (never really got into mining until it took to long so I gave up)

Cashed in about 1/2 of it for Amazon gift cards that I'm going to use to buy an SSD. Just wish I would have done last month when they where worth over $1,000 :(

i fell this guys pain i sold over 100 of them when they where at the $5-25 range a few years ago. who would have know that they would be worth this much?

Bitcoins value is purely theoretical. I don't know any store that would accept them as payment.

The value of almost anything is purely theoretical... last time I checked we don't live on a barter system.

Uhm the currency backed up by the central bank is about as real as it gets. Bitcoin is just a bubble that I expect to deflate after people come to their senses.

blah blah blah. Another one who didn't get in on it and now is angry and preaches the end of Bitcoin.

Over and over with the stupid comments "I would be kicking myself."

Why don't you kick yourself for not making a string of highly improbable options trades, or betting everything on roulette correctly several times in a row?

10,000 BTC aren't 'worth' 750,000 USD. The analogy to a collectible is very correct, it's basically only worth what someone is willing to pay, except the base value, or the 'cost' of the collectible here, is zero. And if you think there is a BUY offer for 10k BTC at 750 USD a piece, you are mad. Furthermore, the system is so messed up that a single sale of 10k bitcoin at any significant value under the current projected value is enough to crash the whole market (and I use the term market loosely).

I understand why a certain segment of HardOCP would be interested in a cryptocurrency, but I wish the moderators wouldn't encourage you guys. Stick to Folding, that has more value than bitcoin ever will.

Love it. Lets open a casino where you buy in with USD, but only pays out in Dogecoins.

Much chances. So choices. Very excite.

You would need to sell them off at say 50 a day.
