What basically turned out to be a tempest in a coffee cup, Brazilian authorities warned Facebook management of imminent blocking of the Facebook domain in Brazil if the media giant failed to comply with a court order to remove uploaded images from their pages.

However, the judge in the center of the latest dispute, Régis Rodrigues Bonvicino, said: "If Facebook operates in Brazil, it is subject to Braziian laws."
 
That's Brazil alright, still thinking it's a dictatorship with self-inflated judges and politicians creating absurd laws.
I wish FB hadn't backed down.

Still amazing the politicians see the internet as if a domain is "operating in their country" and not like a telephone call where you call someone else, possibly in a country outside your own.
