All you Bing users out there will be happy to know Microsoft has given the search engine a bit of an overhaul.

Microsoft is giving its Bing search engine an overhaul to better compete with Google. Along with a spiffed-up logo and cosmetic homepage changes, the software giant's search engine gets new features including Page Zero, an amped-up autofill that aims to be a step ahead of you.

A little lip gloss won't help if it still doesn't find anything you're looking for. Bing really sucks.

Nothing wrong with Bing, but I realize it's fashionable to hate everything Microsoft these days.
And Bing searches actually get me free stuff which is nice thru Bing rewards.

They've given it a makeover? So, if I go to the Bing site, does it give me Google yet?

useless upgrades, improve the search logarithms to compete with google.

The new feature presents detailed information such as current weather conditions in a particular city in larger, integrated presentation at the top of the page.

Have these changes been made? Release date? I do not see these changes yet nor did I see when this was supposed to be effective but I could have missed it.

They need to rename it to Bang!

I like the way you think... hired!

The reason I use Bing is for the $5 Amazon and Xbox Live rewards. Using Google when I don't need to just gets them paid. And I gots to get paid yo.

I still use Google for the extra-tough searches though, like coding help.

Ever notice they tried to make Bing look exactly like Google, the color scheme, results formayting, drop down options, everything. Why not have some pride and originality? Always baffled me. Do they want people to think they're using Google?

Same here. Google is still the best for hard to find stuff. I have started to use Bing more lately for everything else.

Yep. Basically throw easy searches toward bing and get paid; if you actually want to search for something, google it up :)

Nothing wrong? I just performed a similar search to Bing and Google.

Bing yields 1 result which is not even remotely accurate. Google has 1620 hits with the correct page on top.

Bing S U C K S.

I'm pretty sure you just lied on the internet.

Different user and search term will obviously yield different results. What works good for one may not work for someone else. It doesn't make it "suck" it just doesn't work as well for you and others. Everyone has stuff that works well for them and it's fine that they don't like what you like and do things like you do them. I promise that it will be OK, lol.

Then stop searching for midget porn.

Bing works fine if you live in the US(actually has a large enough pool of users to which they can derive proper results). Works better if you use it more just like google works better when you use it more.

Why bother? If someone tells you that Google gave 1620 correct results and Bing gave only 1 result, which was incorrect, you would think they would post what they searched for.

As a webmaster, I can say Bing really does suck. Every low quality website I've ever built with an exact match domain ranks #1 on bing (no matter how shitty it is), while it's usually somewhere on the third or fourth page of Google.

Bing works well, haters going to hate.

The majority of the time google does a better job for me - I've been using Bing primarily. But there have been many times where Bing did better with long strings whereas google seemed to care more about specific words.

You are a very unbias and reputable person... lol why don't you share your search

The thing that makes me happy is that there is now a legitimate alternative. Still, I feel like search has gotten worse in the past few years.

It has because the main thing that Google really pushed in search was rank based on popularity. This is one of those funny things, because it caught on quickly when Google was smaller, more tech savvy people liked it and it resulted in better searches as the tech savvy and forum goers would push the results in the correct direction. But that exact thing that made Google successful then destroyed it as all the non tech savvy people started using Google and skewing the results. Sometimes I really like Bing better because I feel like it is more relevant but IMO Bings back end doesn't seem to have as large a database or something.

I kinda feel like a purely context driven search would actually be a sort of retro smash hit now days. Going back to the roots when things like how close words were together mattered and how many words matched.

I've found the opposite. It took me a while to like Bing, but the results I get are usually a lot more relevant than Google. If not, I jump to Google and find. I am not locked to a single search engine. But, Bing is far from sucking.

Bing always reminds me of Ricochet Rabbit.

Ricochet was made in Goldsrc, Goldsrc is the Half-Life 1 engine. Microsoft confirms Half-Life 3 as a Xbox1 exclusive.

Today's Bing (the Russian fox) appears to have a funny jab at Sarah Palin in the third box, haha.
