why is it that the front page links are broken for the 'featured' articles and have been so for the past days?

How is this product at all competitive with the 7870 XT? You can find the Tahiti LE for around $250, which is offering better performance for the same price at retail.

correct. Sapphire HD 7870 XT sells for USD 260 and is a much better buy than ASUS HD 7870 at USD 240.

the GTX 660 Ti is by no means a price competitor to HD 7870. the average GTX 660 Ti price is USD 280 - 310 while the average HD 7870 is USD 230 - 260. in newegg the GTX 660 ti starts at USD 280

at specific points of time a GTX 660 Ti might go down to USD 260 but thats more an exception like the XFX HD 7870 selling at USD 212 at amazon.

this review fails to mention the excellent game bundle by AMD which now includes the LEVEL UP offer. 4 games which include tombraider, crysis 3, bioshock infinite and fc3 blood dragon. that is an amazing value.

I would say that the XT/LE/etc the name of the day is for the Tahiti based 7870 is a superior option to the GHz Edition/Piticarn based 7870s. However, the Tahiti cards were represented to us by our contacts as being a limited edition/limited time card and to not have the expectation of continued availability on a go forward basis. That is why you generally do not see it included within evaluations in this price band here.

When the evaluation was started, this card was pricing at $260, which was in line with a handful of GTX 660 Ti cards out in etail.
