Using GPS as a high tech burglary tool? You have to admit, it would be a good way to know if your victims were at home or not.

The victim of a recent Overland Park home burglary thinks the thieves employed GPS technology so they could tell when she wasn’t home. The woman, who owns an area jewelry business, said that after the burglary in March, GPS tracking devices were discovered on her vehicle and one owned by her son.

While emphasis is placed on "using GPS"....that's not so much the issue.

If this were the issue, fewer people would actually want it. This whole thing falls under the heading: "DUH!".

In other news: the Earth is a sphere that orbits the Sun

Maybe it was the FBI who did it and the burglary was just coincidental :D

You could always find out pretty quick by taking the GPS off your car and waiting to see how quickly the FBI or whatever law enforcement agency rushes in threatening you with criminal charges for doing so. :(

GPS technology has been installed on State (Trooper) Police vehicles and it is used by their supervisor(s) to track their locations, it even provides idle time data in case they are sleeping the am hours while parked (hiding) in the local cemetery. OMG! They should install GPS tracking devices on all law enforcement vehicles. Remember the old saying? You can never find a cop when you need one, but when you don't need one, they're there. We live in a society when pizza gets to your home before the police.
