This train wreck of a case just keeps getting weirder and weirder as it goes. It sure is nice to see a judge that will not take any crap off these scumbags though. Thanks to everyone that sent this one in.

The hearing lasted all of twelve minutes, and the decision to plead the Fifth, barring some kind of miracle, is likely a death sentence for Prenda. The firm had dug its own grave by trying to do battle with the deep pockets of Verizon and Comcast, and that was before they decided to commit legal seppuku by allegedly engaging in all manner of sleazy and potentially criminal behavior.

yea at this point there trying not make things worse for the coming criminal charges coming at them when this is over

I'm wondering if there is a timeline to all this crap?

Wikipedia has a decent overview under "Court fraud allegations": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Piracy_Law_Group

Popehat has a good general overview with this post here:
http://www.popehat.com/2013/03/06/what-prenda-law-is-facing-in-los-angeles/

It's not quite fully up to date, but gets you the basic info on how it all started.

Rest of the info is under the prenda law tag: http://www.popehat.com/tag/prenda-law/

Arstechnica also has a fair number of good articles regarding the Prenda Law saga: http://arstechnica.com/search/?query="prenda+Law"

Prenda Law are going to need a fifth of something to numb the pain of being prosecuted for misconduct.
