It’s time to break out the tin foil hats again in response to newly released files from the National Security Agency under the Freedom of Information Act. It seems like the long held policy of not spying on the American public is no longer being observed. The NSA claims that the intrusions are vulnerability assessments only and do not monitor private networks.

The 190 pages of the NSA's Perfect Citizen files, which EPIC obtained through the Freedom of Information Act last week, are heavily redacted.

Did the name Perfect Citizen strike anyone else as Ironic? I've always thought that the perfect citizen was one that tried to maximize freedom while limiting government to the bear minimum. And that is contrary to the nature of Government.

Keep in mind, this isnt so much about the NSA, who are the recipients of the information of vulnerabilities by the employees hired by RAYTHEON to develop penetration testing solutions...

One last thing, always remember that any power which you grant to a regime which you approve of will eventually be inherited by one that does not approve of you, or of a particular individual right. There are just too many modern day examples which prove this out.

The plan called for U.S. personnel to disguise themselves as agents of the Cuban government and to engage in terrorist attacks on the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay. It also called for terrorist attacks within the United States that would be conducted by pro-U.S. forces disguising themselves as Cuban agents.

It hasn't been debunked.. it was an operational plan... funded by the joint chiefs...which john kennedy allegedly rejected....its part of history and can be gotten through a FOIL request, although redacted in some areas i believe...

And it has a varying reference to loose change in that he defended my opinion by citing that our government would propose and implement illegal acts, under the constitution, because well, they can.. and we allow it because most americans believe american idol isnt scripted, and jersey shore is real life.... or as gene wilder said in Blazing Saddles....

I don't think Raytheon was specifically mentioned in loose change... however since they are a manufacturer of cruise missiles, among other armaments, i thought it prudent to point out how in bed with government this company is, and how they keep getting government contracts after aquisitions of other technology companies...and also how they are NOT investigated for wrong doing by the SEC... this was a recent aquisition..

This is NOT about theory. There are plenty of so-called 'back-doors' for government in cable/DSL modems (as per federal law). Software forced onto people through the activation process of these modems.

How many of you see "tin-foil hat" in this and still refuse to stay away from Facebook or Twitter? It's laughable to me to get upset about articles like this and at the same time, be perfectly ok with the bigger problems. It's already (by law) set up so that if you log-on to ANY .gov site, your computer then becomes government property (regardless of the reason why).

Most people know little to nothing about how computers work. People think they are just fine if they keep their computer 'up-to-date' in constant battle to update the OS and anti-virus/malwarer software. The truth is the very little of any of these so-called updates are for the benefit of the user. Most of it is meant for Microsoft, Apple, and government. You would do better with tighter cookie-controls and a good host file. If updates and AV software were the answer....there wouldn't be any problems at this point. Malware, virus, trojan, spyware, back-doors, and other remote monitoring tools are worse now than it has ever been. There is a reason why. You are watched and monitored with everything you do through Facebook and Twitter. It's pointless to complain about anything the NSA does (under ANY president) and still use Facebook.

Did you know that over 1,750 crackpot verified/certified (real) architects and engineers (some with over 30-40+ years experience in the field) signed petitions calling for an independent investigation to 9/11 which was denied? Yeah, they kept that plan in the hopper for 40 years and nobody who was a part of the plan stepped forward. Right....

Its crap like this that turns legitimate questioning of government into an easily ridiculed cartoon. And there's a lot more to question every year. But we end up with a fast track derailment to some outrageous claim or conspiracy theory instead having little to do with the original topic.

The only conspiracy theory I have is if maybe some of you know what you're doing.
 
Even if this stuff is happening, unless you go into huge rants about it online, you're probably not even going to get noticed by an automated content filter, much less a real person who costs money to pay to watch you download porn. Article basically says that the NSA paid Raytheon for 28 pentesters to test the energy grid, not exactly sure what's out of the ordinary... I'm sure they do a lot worse creepier stuff than that.
