I am still amazed at all the stuff people come up with using a Kinect. These guys are talking about eventually having this system small enough to clip on your monitor.

That's what I've been waiting for. A way to play virtual Jenga. :D

Lol, actually, they just made a system that will allow for greater input for CAD modeling and data modeling in general and clearly gaming. Can't wait for a production unit.

Would it recognize this gesture?

Just think what this could do for the porn industry!

3D Interactive strippers :p

The Leap Motion is already up for pre-sale, costs a hell of a lot less than 2 kinects, takes up less space, and already has Mac+Windows support with Linux support on the way. Sure, the video is cool, but if you actually want a solution like this then Leap Motion is the way to go.

A little competition is good for business.

They are both impressive and make me want to spend my money.

Everything I've seen on Leap Motion has been very staged. Great of it works, but I won't be rushing to be first in line.

I didn't even know that existed. Thanks.

What is the practical use of this? Why does all input technology keep going for touch...seems like a step backwards to me. I mean, tablets are already all the rage and touch screens suck ass for any kind of serious work and now people want us to physically wail our hands and arms in the air just to select an icon or drag and drop something?

I'm about on the verge of just giving up on technology. It just keeps getting worse and worse...
