Today at the Intel Developer Forum, Renée James, senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group at Intel Corporation, outlined her vision for transparent computing. This concept is made possible only through an “open” development ecosystem where software developers write code that will run across multiple environments and devices. This approach will lessen the financial and technical compromises developers make today.

What, will they have a bunch of leprechauns running around with magic wands that fix everything? Hasn't this been the lofty-statement from...pretty much everyone...that their "open" system will make everything easier for everyone?

I've been reading about this crap since 2006.
I'm sorry, but there are just too many different architectures, patents, companies, and the necessary time involved in such a venture that it most likely won't come to pass for the next 20 years at least.

Good luck Intel, you're going to need it.
