Dell Looking to Buy Quest Software

Dell is in the shopping mood and is looking hungrily at Quest Software. Quest works with database, server and workspace management, which is the direction Dell is moving; away from the dependence on hardware and personal computers. Quest was just recently acquired by Insight Venture Partners for $2 Billion and is being sought after by several concerns other than Dell.

An acquisition of Quest would be the latest step by Dell in its efforts to reduce its reliance on PC and server hardware and become more of an enterprise solutions provider

Dell is a concern. Their monitors are good though.

Great, I tested out Quest software and was satisfied with it, with this and the purchase of Wyse, dell is going to try and force their way into the Cloud. Given Dells track with me, I honestly hope they fail
