Good thing Facebook didn't just pay a billion dollars for Instagram or this new iPhone camera app would seem like a pretty stupid idea. Wait....

The new app is similar to Instagram, the photo-sharing app Facebook is in the process of buying for $1 billion. The acquisition, however, has not yet been completed. Facebook didn't give details on when it might release a version of the app for phones that run on Google's Android operating system.

This looks to be a Facebook-branded Instagram-like app, which means it does filter effects the iPhone does not do out of the box.

This thing lets you upload multiple photos at once, as a single post, which is pretty nice. Filters are useless, but apparently those were developed by FB in-house, before they shelled out a shiny penny for Intragram.

Don't all phones do this out-of-the-box already?

LOL

I just checked my phone and it does indeed have all of these filters built in.

I never got the whole instagram thing...I'm not a hipster so I never bothered with filters.
