Eric Schmidt took the stand today in the Oracle vs. Google trial today. If you were hoping for some of Schmidt's signature crazy-talk, you are going to be disappointed, he didn't flip out once during questioning. :(

Google's executive chairman testifies that the Android team developed a "clean room" implementation that uses a completely different approach to the way Java worked internally. So why did Google think it still needed a license from Sun in 2010?

I have the feeling that if Sun was still Sun and not the new Oracle disaster that this lawsuit would not exist.

When Oracle purchased Sun they decided they wanted a return on their investment even if it meant suing one of Sun's former friends.
