Ten years ago today, the country banded together to defeat this copyright bill. A decade later, it seems that politicians haven't learned from their mistakes and are committed to repeating them.

Well connected lobbyists and everyday users alike have flooded Congress with faxes and e-mail over the past several weeks to lodge complaints against the bill, which would prevent new computers, CD players and other consumer-electronics devices from playing unauthorized movies, music and other digital media files. The Senate Judiciary Committee, which has also held hearings on the issue, has received more than 3,500 comments criticizing the bill, a spokeswoman said. "We haven't received one e-mail in support of the Hollings bill," said Judiciary Committee spokeswoman Mimi Devlin. "It seems like there's a groundswell of support from regular users."

I think they think like this: "If we keep trying, maybe they'll come to their senses and see that we're doing this for their own good." Of course, they're stupid enough to actually believe it's good for us. Many times, those who are the most incompetent are too incompetent to actually see their incompetence and believe they are doing a good job.

That is the plan of the anti *smoking* *unhealthy food* *insane PC correct* ....... groups.

And it works. :(

They never learn. The gov't should stick to it's actual duties rather than pandering to special interest groups. Sure it will never happen, but you can always hope.

Money talks
Money corrupts
Power corrupts

Nothing you can do about it really.

More like: "If you keep trying, maybe they'll get tired and give up."
