In an uncharacteristic move of openness, China has admitted that the Hactivist group Anonymous has been able to breach the Great Firewall of China and hacked into literally hundreds of websites.

Hundreds of Chinese government, company, and other general websites have been hacked and defaced in the span of a few days.

Hmm, here I read the title and thought "Wow China is admitting to anonymously hacking US gov't computers"

nope... my faith in the great red menace is still strong.

Had same reaction initially :D

However, this strikes me of an excuse to bring down harsher more draconian rules on its populace to "protect" it against outsider...Vaguely familiar, just can't put my finder on it...

haha +2. I can't/don't hack but I used VPN in China before to get around GFC, that would be the same way as circumvent GFC eh?
