Perverts...ummm, I mean "photographers" rejoice! MIT has developed a camera that can take pictures around a corner. I would say "imagine what this could be used for" but I know your brain is already going 100mph right now with upskirt ideas. :D

...... This is about as much for porn as picasso's paintings... Too inaccurate, now if they can get more accurate readings, then we have something. Probably easy but I don't want to say it like I know...

Awesome implementation, must be one hell of an algorithm.
Stealth angles and light absorption paint.. too soon to start implementing this on people?

Very cool, it seem analogous to echo location except using light instead of sound. Although I wonder how well it does if surfaces are not smooth, that algorithm is where all the genius is though. Seeing the shit that comes out of these brain schools like MIT and CalTech I'm surprised we're not flying around the Solar System.

Pretty incredible, but I wonder how non-uniform surfaces would work for the "reflecting wall".

The video was also well produced, making it very easy to watch.

If this tech is shrunk, it will probably be in some soldier's helmet/goggles someday in the future. I can't think of too many real world applications though, unless a person was really paranoid about someone following them.

if they want to be useful it need to capture moving objects because in places that ppl might need to peek around corners. they will need it to capture motion too

I believe this could be useful in cars. If you have ever come across a four way with no stop signs and the view is obstructed you would probably agree.

The usefulness of this lies in how fast the algorithm can make that computation, which the video really does allude to. If it took an hour of computing time to calculate the shape, then not so useful

No reason why this isn't feasible. Obviously resolution isn't high enough for fast action but point is that it's possible.

So that's how they do it in call-of-duty...

Imagine this in a war environment though... it would seriously be true 'wall hacks' ... You wouldnt stand a chance. Of course im sure there is limits to how it works and such, not to mention the portability of it would be near impossible.. but i find it hard to believe something like this doesnt already exist. Very cool video!
