Was thinking this. You don't need a $20 controller to make lights go on and off in series.

Apparently thids guy has a really horrible connection somewhere in between him and youtube.

I hardly ever even see the loading thing on youtube.

lol exactly, but last time i check PIC16F cost about 12 cents....i still prefer PIC 18F, i rather use native C18

i used a pic18 to make a time and temp display for a bank once. used a dallas rtc and serial gps for time, and some atmel temp sensor for temp reading (serial as well) and used the pic18 to control some led drivers (hardest part was making the damn thing water proof)
