So, if I understand this correctly, you should unfriend the lady you are currently married to before committing polygamy? Facebook is totally at fault on this one. :D

"Facebook is now a place where people discover things about each other they end up reporting to law enforcement," Lindquist said. "It's just the latest vessel by which people can stray if they want to," she said.

The way the article is written, it doesn't sound bad at all. Its more like:

Man and Wife separate (but do not get a divorce)

Man meets other chick, and they get married over half a decade after the man and his first wife separated.

First wife gets vindictive and turns him into the police on a technicality.

So he faces a year in jail for negligent stupidity and a vindictive (should be ex) wife.

Letter of the law v intent of the law...Dude isn't a polygamist trying to hide one wife from another, but the law is the law.

Facebook might indeed be a cesspool wherein the stupidest samples of humanity tend to collect, but the drama there isn't really the fault of the provider. Facebook shouldn't be held accountable for the fact that it attracts the extroverted dregs lurking at the bottom of the human barrel. At least someone is profiting nicely and employing people that in turn drive our economic engine by giving these sorts of people a stage upon which they exhibit themselves in the most moronic fashion.

Then again, Facebook is a bit like the Field of Dreams wherein someone has built the place where baseball is played. Of course, in this case, someone's laid out the heap of fecal matter around which the flies seem to be gathering.

"If you deuce it, they will come" ? :D

The situation looks more like they both separated and each forgot to sign the proper papers. The guy remarries later and the former wife reams him for their shared mistake. I think I can guess why they initially separated.
