Throw away those lottery tickets and brush up on your 1337 haX0ri|\|g skillz because Google is offering big money for anyone that can hack Chrome.

While we’re proud of Chrome’s leading track record in past competitions, the fact is that not receiving exploits means that it’s harder to learn and improve. To maximize our chances of receiving exploits this year, we’ve upped the ante. We will directly sponsor up to $1 million worth of rewards.

wow, that's very cool and very smart of them to essentially bring in outside testers to break the system.

It's also a way to get some people to pop up on the radar who would ordinarily stay hidden as they maliciously hack away in private. Definitely a win-win scenario for Google.

$60K per exploit, total of $1 million for all, for those of you (none of you apparently) who did RTFA.

Brilliant! Probably cheaper for Google to do that than to have a crew of devs doing the same thing on salary. At least they only have to pay for actual results.
