Spacewar is considered by some to be the granddaddy of all of the video games, paving the way for the industry we know today. The game was created by four students at MIT way back in 1962 and was made to reflect the ongoing space race of the times. To put the game’s age in perspective, John Kennedy was President of the US.

Guess I didn't go back that far.
The first video game I recall, at least of a PC, was "Lunar Lander", which was a color game on my DEC Rainbow 100B, sometime about 1985 or so.

I also recall crashing a lot more than I was able to land the thing safely.

Thanks for making me feel like an old geezer,I can remember playing the arcade version of this when it first came out.

John Kennedy was president and 95% of the people here at the [H] weren't born yet.

I remember paying a quarter to play it at the State fair arcade. That was big money back then.
