Veterans Day 2011: Google Doodle Salutes Troops

Google is honoring Veterans Day with one of their well-known Google Doodles on its homepage. Veterans Day originally marked the end of hostilities on the First World War at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month. It is now considered a day of remembrance and thanks to all Veterans, past and present. Take a little time out of your day to thank a Vet for their sacrifice and service to the country.

“In recent years,” says the website of Yellow Ribbon America, “it has been displayed to show our support for our service men and women to keep them first and foremost in our hearts and prayers.”
