Holy cow, 20,000 tweets? That's like 55 tweets a day for an entire year....wait, that's less than the average Twitter user. Nevermind. :D

A federal grand jury in San Francisco has charged a San Antonio man with harassing a high-ranking Google executive with more than 20,000 Twitter posts, some of which were threatening. According to court records, Gregory Calvin King was arrested in Texas last month and transported to San Francisco to face charges he threatened Google vice president Marissa Mayer, the company's first female engineer.

I'm confused. How does CA have jurisitiction on something that seems to have happened in Texas?

Never heard of Marissa Mayer until a few years ago, on a CrankyGeeks episode, Adam Curry went off on how much he wanted to have sex with her!!

Note the "federal" grand jury wording. Thusly a federal warrant was probably used to get the guy in Texas even though the fed grand jury was held in CA.
 
Two "awesome" things about this story:

First, that Twitter has left all of those tweets up. Second, because of that, the entire purpose of the Victim's Bill of Rights, to leave the victim unidentified (which is why she is only identified as "M.M." in court documents), has been circumvented.

Youtube and "normal" news sites (local, CNN, Fox, Yahoo) comments just show me what a fucking moronic society we live in. If you want real news and intelligent comments (for the most part) check out the Economist.

she's pretty and very smart, also powerful as well.
i believe she's on the Fortune's list of 50 the most powerful women in the world.
