Amidst all of the hubbub of Comic-Con, two legendary producer/directors stood out from the crowd and received a standing ovation from the surprised audience for their appearance. The two appeared to present a new 3-D trailer for the upcoming release of The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, a story adapted from the Belgian comic strip by Georges Remi, aka Hergé.

“I’m not ready to grow up. If I start growing up that’s when I’ll stop making movies, which I don’t intend to do,” Spielberg said.

OMFG so ready for this. loved tintin since i was a kid. actually, still am a kid. :)

Wtf is a tinting?

Its a belgian comic or something. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Tintin"]The Adventures of Tintin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Adventures_of_Tintin_Cast.png" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c3/Adventures_of_Tintin_Cast.png/250px-Adventures_of_Tintin_Cast.png"@@AMEPARAM@@en/thumb/c/c3/Adventures_of_Tintin_Cast.png/250px-Adventures_of_Tintin_Cast.png[/ame] Random knowledge, tintin sounds similar to a childish term for penis in Japanese...

Read all the books growing up can't wait. My wife hates Tintin, of course she's Belgian :/. Hates asterix and obelix too :(

I saw the trailer earlier this week, the graphics looked terrible, even though it apparently uses the latest technology.
And it's a mix of 3 different Tintin comic books, so it's a free adaptation, it does not follow each book like the other Tintin animations do. I have all of them on DVD, and the comic books too, and I love both. Spielberg may have a hard time convincing real Tintin fans that he is bringing something new and valuable.

I wonder how "que le grand cric me croque" and "mille millions de mille sabords de tonnerre de Brest" are translated into English...

I'm guessing a lot of Americans won't know what this is from? I've never heard of it before, and hadn't heard of Asterix and Obelix either, although I seem to slightly recognize them somehow. Or is it a new resurgence of popularity with them - some type of retro interest?

Thats not how they say it on the cartoon! It's definately chinchin! :p

In Japanese? I've never read or watched Tintin in Japanese, but considering that foreign names take on their original pronunciation I would expect them to pronounce it「テンテン」. If they pronounce it as 「ちんちん」then that would be hilarious!

It's タンタン :( But people in the UK say it ちんちん :D

...Which is especially funny, as it's called the "adventures of tintin" :D

「タンタン」? (For those who don't read katakana that's 'Tantan'). Well that's an unexpected way to say it lol!

Same here...Blistering barnacles what is wrong with her? TinTin, Asterix and Obelix, and Captain Future is what I grew up with :D

Been looking forward to this (especially another Spielberg directed film). :)

Beavis and Butthead making their comeback at comic con should be more of a news item than this

you have shamed me [H]

Tintin? Huh? Indiana Jones? But it's a fricking comic, one could also say Johnny Quest was an Indy clone too.

Harry Steele is who you are talking about and the movie is on Netflix. It's called Secret of the Incas and if you like Indiana Jones, you will definitely like it.

Honestly i have to agree, even more so as it has been reported that beavis and butt-head will feature youtube videos which i would say is much more tech related than the fact another old intellectual property is being dragged out of the grave and used to make another 3d movie just like the hundreds of other 3d movies that are coming out.

Plus i outgrew tintin when i was a kid (as in before teenager years),yet i still have not grown out of beavis and butt-head like retardedness lol.
