Rumors have been circulating for a while now, but it’s looking more and more like Apple will be dropping Samsung as Apple’s supplier for the A6 processors. It could be that Apple is just spreading out its supply line or quite possibly it could be the ongoing lawsuits between the companies causing the shift.

TSMC has allocated over seven billion dollars to update their technology and add fabrication capacity to their facilities. It makes one think they are expecting a lot of revenue soon.

More capacity for Samsung means they have some free capacity to make more chips for their own products this making their competing products cheaper and thus sell more.

Less capacity at TSMC means higher prices on AMD, nVidia, and some Intel chips.
Not that Apple cares, but I do.
