cute... but i think a headcrab footstool would be cuter
 
Cool, but made out of all that plywood would be a bit pricy. Not to mention doesn't look terribly strong if you used it as a step stool.
 
after actually looking at th epictures in the article, I know of a much better way to make that so it would take a lot less time AND be a lot sturdier.

Parts needed.

2x blocks of wood cut to the proper shape with channels for the legs to go through

4x pieces of CNC'd aluminum for the legs. The legs would go all the way through the body of the stool.

4x countersunk bolts, nuts, washers should be plenty to hold it together.. mayb 6 if you are paranoid.
 
Once I were using it, I wonder how many cycles it would take me to change state :D
 
Haha, good ole 555 timer, its been a little while since I have used you! Awesome foot stool.
 
I want a CD4093 version! I use them for timers/clocks more than 555s. :)

It's also a DIP14, so it would be a little longer.

Perhaps it should be set up as a multi-vibrator.
