Not really on the cause, just narrowed it down to the O/S which probably will be impossible to find. I do have a recent image I plan on restoring it back to.
I thought this was a Router issue, it's not. I have a laptop that is running W7 Pro x64, the same as this tower and the program seems to work fine. But not on the desktop. Something is corrupted somewhere. I do have a older 'image' of the O/S, but I would like to try to find the problem w/o...
Long story short, it isn't the Router, it's the O/S. I tried the software on my W7 Laptop and it appears all is well. I even tried a different network card.
So off to a different sub forum with the problem.
I would still love to know why this device doesn't show in the routers active client...
Well it's not, the 3rd unit now drops the connection with the Router after 20-30 seconds after rebooting. It's done it 4 or 5 times. And the connection never returns. The activity LED's on the Ethernet port on the DVR both show active (and I have changed the cable).
The question is; is there...
I have already sent the 2nd unit back for an exchange. I will see how that is or should I say what is wrong with it. Both units have crashed, the 1st one three times, twice with resetting the clock back to 2016.
I was convinced it was the hardware since as I stated above, the 1st unit didn't have the problem. AFA the O/S maybe, but that major surgery is a very last resort.
No, I never implied it wasn't the hardware, just the opposite which is why I sent the 2nd one back for exchange.
I don't know what you mean by "rebuilding from scratch"? Other than replacing the DVR. :confused:
The F/W number also has the date in it so I know it's the same. I also remember seeing it on their website. It ended in "20200513"
Could it be something flaky with that M$ C++ 2010 that it snuck in there w/o notice??
I and they would of notice that. They confirmed the F/W and S/W versions when I talked with them.
These are a older, discontinued model that was replaced with a almost identical version (at least visually). How about this C++ 2010, when it comes to M$, I would first put the blame there.
What...
Here is the DVR;

The software is here (but you have to register to d/l);

I have a CCTV DVR (Speco Tech if that matters) that uses a software program to connect to a PC. There are two basic modes; Live TV and Playback. Both functions are pretty much self explanatory.
I was having issues with the 1st unit I received (new) but that one did NOT have this issue. The 2nd...
Out of the blue (well almost) the Scanner function has stop working. The machine goes thru the cycle of scanning, but no file is produced. I've never had a problem with this on more than one of theses printers. Here is what I have done;
Removed and re-install the software & drivers and the...
I don't want all of that bloat which is the reason I installed it the way I have done for years.
I just tried to re-install the older driver v457.21 from 12/20 and the result was the same. Is there a MS Service that controls this?
I was tiring to update the drivers for this card via Device Manager, first uninstalling the older drivers and deleting the files. The install was done by pointing DM to the specific drivers only folder (I didn't want their Control panel). It appeared to install ok, but a ! was displayed for that...

I'm having a huge problem when I type to the extent I spend more correcting the mistypes then I do typing the the sentence.
What is happening is my second finger is hitting the right button (on a standard mouse) and bring up the context menu. Is here a mouse with a shorter right click button...
Peat Moss;
Great job on the videos!!
I have a 6 year old Gigabyte AMD based MB and it's terrible especially for the boot screens. Confusing and overly complicated with the dual entries (hard to explain).
In analog NTSC color, blue was a easy color to transmit, or so the explanation I was told decades ago. They could of meant 'display' instead of transmit since it is a color that doesn't show up noise and issues as much as red which is the worst of the 3 primaries.
I upgraded from a MSI AMD R7 260X that I had no trouble seeing the BIOS/UEFI screen during boot.
Now I can't, the screen goes dark until the O/S (Win7 Pro x64) loads.
My monitor is a Asus PA-248Q and I'm using the DisplayPort connection as I was before. The only change is the card. Using the...
Funny, I had a friend call me up, the guy who I bought my 1st PC from (custom build) and we got talking. He is a Seagate fan (which surprised me). Apparently he had enormous issues with WD years ago including warranty coverage with multiple of drives (used in servers) and he switched over to SG...
I had a suggestion to look at Seagate Enterprise drives. They have a 5 year warranty, but note the long & well composed comment about "coil whine";
