So I've been away a while again....

The title kind of says it all. I have yet again taken a long hiatus from participating in the forum. For those who remember I discussed that I was going to school to obtain a Commercial Pressurized Water Reactor Operators License. Link here for those who want to peek into the wayback machine...

    nvidia 375 Drivers

Are there any versioni 375 drivers that work with folding? I've been holding out with 372 series drivers, but my son just got Battlefield 1 for PC, and he cannot launch the game due to an error that 375.62 drivers are required to play the game. This is not quite the big issue with points as his...

looking back in after taking some time off from the forum

It has been a long time since I was active here. I saw a massive drop off in the points, but as I was working on college, I did not take time to figure out why. It looks like PG/VJ/7im have been behaving badly as they always have. I have one box still folding, an i7 2600K/R9 270x. Based upon...

    Slow downloads of SMP WUs

I've been experiancing some excruciatingly slow downloads for regular SMP WUs. It really should not take 30+ minutes to download a 3-4MB WU. I have seen this from at least both of the following: http://128.143.231.202:8080/ http://128.143.199.96:8080/ Has anyone else seen this? Does...

looking back in after taking some time away

Due to demands at work, taking up college, and some personal issues, I have been away for some time now. I have watched my freefall through the ranks around 40ish. It is frustrating to make over 100KPPD and be going backwards, but I suppose it is what it is, and every point counts. The heat of...

Boxxen Down and it can't get up

More woes for me and the recent [H]ardbox that I added to my farm. I finally found the source of the "run away" process that I had. Seems that as the Voltage Regulator got hot, it would cause the board to throttle. This was indicated by the "run away" process. Adding a cooling fan to the...

    OCing a i7 970

I had thought I had a reasonably good overclock. I'm running my 970 @ 23X181 for a final speed of 4153. Yet 3 times in the last 2 days I read of others running their 970s at 4300+. Near as I figure you guys doing it are using 24X175ish. These 970s seem to be finishing 6901s in 22 minutes...

I finally finished my 800D Build

I have for some time been participating in Folding at Home. This can place some strain on your hardware if you don't make efforts to keep it cool. I enjoy overclocking, which again you need to keep things cool. Cool apparently is the key. Unfortunately for me, I'm in the Navy and have...

My i7 is finally firing on all cylindars

so after fighting for days on a buggy overclock, my 970 is now up and stable. At anything around 4GHz I could not complete a WU without EUE or Core/Client Comms errors.
