Saw your edit and sounds like you're all good. But check on the temps, I know my laptop (getting kind of old now with a Core 2 Duo) gets far too close to TJ Max when I run the GPU and SMP client, and it scales back the multiplier so I end up running around 700MHz below normal.
Zero, I could, but I actually got it working using HFM.net's webpage/logfile export. I just set up HFM on the XP computer, and have it logging the other computer, and it exports the log file onto the XP computer so I can just monitor it that way. Having everything on the same subnet would...
I can access one computer, with the IP, the computer that's on my network. The other computer, no. It goes like this:
Rig B (Wireless: 10.0.0.x shared to ethernet: 192.168.0.x) -----> Rig A (Wireless 10.0.0.x)
|
|
V
Rig C (192.168.0.x)
The website thing using HFM may work, I'll play...
Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted, but I have gotten back into folding and what not. So I have 2 computers folding that are not near my router. The windows machine is connected to my network via wireless. The 2nd computer is running a diskless setup, and gets the internet through a...
No problem man, glad to help. Hopefully it helps others too. I have no idea why Bethesda would at that to their installer. There's a whole host of other things they add, such as odd DRM for their music, and the windows LIVE thing, but unfortunately I'm not sure if there's a way around it. Oh...
I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I have read elsewhere that Fallout 3 installs a beta version of Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft Visual C++, which caused major instability issues. I was running it Fallout 3 on Vista, with no changes and I would CTD every 5-10 min. My computer...
sweet, except it didn't work, but I think there might be something wrong with the dell motherboard, because it booted fine on my other ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard, also with the 865PE chipset, thanks though!
nevermind, I think there might be something wrong with the dell motherboard, because it booted fine on my other ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard, also with the 865PE chipset.
Hey, I already posted this in the intel subforum, but I dunno how active it is. I have a Pentium 4 1.7GHz, 400MHz FSB, and I was wondering if it will work with a Dell 4600 Motherboard, I believe it has the Intel 865PE chipset. I'm thinking no, because I recall the intel website saying that the...
I have a Pentium 4 1.7GHz, 400MHz FSB, and I was wondering if it will work with a Dell 4600 Motherboard, I believe it has the Intel 865PE chipset. I'm thinking no, because I recall the intel website saying that the 400MHz FSB P4's only worked with up to the 845 chipset, but maybe someone could...
Yeah I'm using a multimeter, it's not imperative, I had another PSU to switch into the box, but I'm just trying to think what i can do with these if they're dead.
I have two rather old FSP power supplies, one is 235W and I beleive the other is a 300W. Well the 235 has been unreliable for a while, and the 300 recently was unable to boot one of my boxen for F@H. I checked the voltages on the lines, and the 12V rail is putting out only about 9.98 and 9.99V...
In some of today's previous updates, I've had 2 WUs for a total of 19 points, and 2 for 34 points...are these early end wus? Or something else wrong? If so, how can I figure out which boxes they are, because I've check mine already.
clearly you guys can't keep down the spicy food :p . Haha, just kidding, I love spicy food though, this looks good...don't really want throat cancer from chiles though haha.
that is true. The motherboard is a microstar MS-6119 slot 1. Max amount of memory is 768MB in 3 slots of SDRAM PC100 RAM (well I guess that's dependant on the processor). Can be upgraded to a 450MHz PII, or up to700MHz PIII, something with 66MHz or 100MHz FSB, so maybe I can find a 700MHz PIII...
haha I went to sleep last night and forgot to look it up, I think the video card got fried too actually when I replaced the old broken one, and now the ti4200 I had in there won't work in it, I'll see. It's a Quantex, found the PII 350MHz from I think the BIOS. I'll see what I can find out about...
Well it's not gonna be on, my grandfather gave it to me to wipe the hard drive, so it's sitting next to my desk as I think of what sort of project I can come up with it. I'm not really inclined to drop money on it (i.e. upgrade the processor), so unless I can find a busted comptuer with a faster...
Since the elimination of timeless WUs a while ago, I've acquired a 350MHz PII machine, 3xx MB of RAM (can't remember exactly what). Is it even worth running F@H on? Like Foldix say. If not, maybe I can find some light linux/server project for it.
Merry xmas! Even though it's not christmas, but happy holidays to all. Since I'm asking for a 12-string acoustic guitar, I can't really fold on that, but I'll use it to make money to buy folding gear :p
I didn't explain that, but maybe I will. I mean, If I show him the website, and explain the whole "cure for cancer, alzheimers, etc." in a little more detail, maybe he'll feel better about it.
Alright actually I fixed it...I just checked the cfg file from my working machines, and for some reason this machine, in the cfg set the [clienttype] to type=2, and it should have been type=1, soo I switched it, and it's working away right now. Thanks for the thing about post the cfg file, it...
Alright, i was able to pull out my boxen again to start them up, loaded foldix on some new ones, but on comptuer I loaded it, it loaded fine, but when I start F@H, it says: "Error: Attempt #(enter number here) to get work failed, and no other word to do. Waiting before retry." It's connected to...
Hmm, sweet stuff out. I didn't piss my dad off actually, just he's too damn hardheaded to realize that is says 100% CPU because it's using IDLE cycles, and it gives cycles up to more important programs, but he's the typical dad who thinks he knows more than me about computers...even thought he...
Finally my parents let me get on the computer for other stuff than just school stuff, so what's new in DC? It's been weird not logging in every day, but I have found that I have way more time on my hands now that I'm not on the computer all the time. Only bad news here is my dad wanted me to...
